Our wonderful, friendly choir is conducted by
Karen Hill and run by some amazing volunteers.

We work hard each week to make our singing the best it can be. Whilst doing this we share many laughs and our weekly sessions are a huge amount of fun. We have a welcoming atmosphere and enjoy working hard to raise money for local charities. We perform as much as we can, generally 2 or 3 times per school term. We have raised thousands of pounds for charities since the choir was started in 2008 by Tessa Fineman.

Since its inception, the choir has grown from nine to ninety members aged from 20 to 90!

There are no auditions. The only requirement is that you love singing and are prepared to rehearse with commitment in an atmosphere of friendship and enjoyment.

Free taster sessions are offered at the start of each term. Please click here to contact our secretary Carol Clay if you are interested in joining us.

Karen Hill, our Musical Director

Karen Hill

I graduated from the Guildhall school of Music and Drama after four years formal training. My stage performances cover a wide range of musical styles. After leaving college I joined the cast of Phantom of the Opera (Cameron Mackintosh) I then joined Crystal Clear Opera Company to perform for two years in their touring production of Die Fledermaus.

I have also been guest soloist for Swan Hellenic Cruises, Night Waves for BBC Radio 3 and The Players Theatre London Music Hall. I have sung as a soloist in many performances of The Messiah, The Creation, Vivaldi's Gloria and Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise. I have given solo classical Recitals at St James' Piccadily, Southwark Cathedral, Leighton House and many other city churches.

During the last 20 years in addition to my singing work I have been a singing and music teacher for many and varied music organisations and schools. I currently work for Kent Music as a music coordinator in a primary school in Kent. I am privileged to be able to work with and conduct the Kent County Junior Singers at weekends.

These days my singing work is mostly jazz music based in London and the South East with Perfidia Big Band, Force 10 Big Band, The Mike Richards Big Band and Firebird Function Band. As well as singing with my own quartet. I have always enjoyed a balance of teaching and singing and believe this can be motivational to my students and choirs.
